Prayer Reflection – October 1, 2024

Psalm 40:8 (NIV)

“I desire to do your will, my God;
    your law is within my heart.”

The Lord continues to bring me back to this verse and this psalm over the past number of weeks.  So, I wanted to share it with you today as we begin our weekly prayer reflections.

As we pause in prayer today, I invite you to pray through Psalm 40 and see what the Lord causes to stand out to you.

As you pray this verse, “I desire to do your will, my God”, perhaps pause and see what the Holy Spirit brings to mind.  As I type this, the Scripture from Ephesians comes to mind, “and find out what pleases the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:10).

What does it look like to be in step with Jesus today?  His way, His will, His time.  “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25).

My prayer is that Jesus would continue to grow us in this open-handed posture, submitted to Him and hungry to know Him more.  To hear His voice and to go His way.

As you pause with our Father today, I wanted to share these songs to reflect on and offer to Him in worship:
