Prayer Reflection – May 17, 2024

Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV)

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.

Ephesians 2:6-7 (NIV)

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

As we read Psalm 1, notice the declaration and exhortation to delight in the Lord’s law and meditate on it all the time.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water.  Life in all its fullness and abundance.  Blessed.

From the first day that we said yes to Jesus and trusted Him, we have been seated with God in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).  And we continue to live our lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him (Colossians 2:6-7).

Our choices matter and no one else can make our choices for us.  We are planted in Christ.  We abide in Him, remain in Him (see John 15:1-5).  This is our posture.  Life in Christ.  Blessed.

What is Jesus highlighting from His word today as you pause with Him?  How is He leading you to pray?

Here is a song that a friend recently shared with me and I wanted to share with you today:

The Lord bless you!

Colossians 3:15-17
