A few days ago I walked in to a small room dimly lit room and saw a little girl with big brown eyes that lit up my world. She looked up and smiled at me. I could feel the Holy Spirit my heart instantly bonded with this child of God. I had just met my sponsored child!
Her name is Riana. She is 5 years old and was deserted by her parents at the age of two. She currently lives with her aunt who has her own children. After some conversation, her timidness faded and she told me she liked to skip and when she grows up she wants to be a doctor.
Today, I was able to visit Riana’s home. My heart was beating fast and I was so excited but so nervous at the same time. Our truck came around the corner and there was Riana’s big brown eyes waiting for me! I took her hand and looked into her eyes and felt God working within me. I was so blessed to be able to give her a Bible which I had dedicated to her.
Her smile literally up my world as she put on a new dress I had gifted her, and hugged her very first stuffy. I felt so blessed to also be able to provide the family with a food hamper contained sugar, flour, beans, rice and much more.
A few months ago I would never have thought of sponsoring a child. Since being baptized November 17th of last year God has given me a new purpose. I am blessed to be a child of God and a part of CrossRoads Church.
