As we approach another summer, it is with great joy and gratitude that we reflect on the important role that our facilities play in our church community. From providing a safe and welcoming environment for worship, to hosting various events and activities, our facility team remains a constant support to the life of ministry at Crossroads.
First and foremost, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to maintain our facilities. Our facility team consists of Aaron, Amanda, Brad, Hannah, JoEllen, Louise, Luke, Mandy, Neala, Rute, and Tammy. Their hard work and commitment ensure that our church is always ready to receive members and visitors alike. We are truly blessed to have such a great team that goes above and beyond to ensure that our facilities are well-kept and conducive to worship, learn, and do life together.
We welcomed three new staff members in the last year: JoEllen Allen bolstered our custodial staff as she has brought a positive attitude and willingness to tackle any project. Aaron Pulgarin Guerrero is our Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evening Building Host; working hard to host events as well as getting the building ready to welcome all of you on Sundays. Rute Pascoal is our Tuesday and Thursday evening Building Host and provides many cleanliness touches throughout the building. We enjoy watching the impact of how our team members’ hard work is tied into ministry here at CrossRoads.
Throughout the year, our facilities have been the stage for various memorable events and productions, including Christmas concerts and an Easter production from different schools in the Red Deer Public School district. These events have become beloved traditions within our community and allow us to support them, celebrate the joyous occasions, and share the blessings of the season! The beauty and functionality of our facilities have played a significant role in creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.
However, as we celebrate the successes of the past year, we must also acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead. Our aging building and equipment have been a cause for concern. While we are grateful for the many years of service they have provided, it is clear that they are in need of repair or replacement. Further sustenance to the capital reserve fund will not only ensure the longevity of our building and equipment, but also enhance our ability to serve and minister to our congregation and the wider community. As we continue to confront this challenge, let us remember that our facilities are more than just bricks and mortar.
Looking ahead, please keep an eye out for upcoming serve opportunities to aid alongside the community here at CrossRoads, as we enhance the aesthetic and longevity of our community space here. These opportunities to serve will involve building projects, whether it be stage sets, building refreshes, or landscaping work. Stay tuned in to the Connect Weekly for updates on ways you can tangibly support the ministry of the building. I can always be reached by phone or email as well if you are interested.
Thank you for your continued support, generosity, and care.
