Matthew 5:4 (NIV)

Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.

Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)

28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Blessed are those who mourn.  They will be comforted.  As we read these words by Jesus in Matthew 5:4, what comes to mind?

Losses can take on so many different forms.  Sometimes, we can rush past emotions in the course of any given day or week.  We can miss things.  Important things.

Are you grieving today?

What could it look today for us to carve out space with Jesus so that He can point out things in our hearts and minds that He wants us to notice and bring to Him?  Perhaps you also need to reach out to someone and ask them to pray with you about this.

As you hear Jesus’ invitation to come to Him today, considering prayerfully reflecting on this song:

The Lord bless you today!
