Prayer Reflection – March 23, 2023
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Oh, the promise and opportunity that each day holds because of Jesus! The things of His kingdom that Jesus moves forward in His power as we offer our lives to Him in worship, each choice, each step, each word.
I have been thinking a lot about time lately and looking back on my life. I am thankful for how Jesus has led me and my family. Jesus has also reminded me that I can’t worry about my past mistakes and missteps. I can’t go back and make different choices. Instead, I am thankful for the grace of Jesus and how He has healed me and continues to heal me and transform my life for His glory and honor (see 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; 5:17).
In view of His mercy, I offer my life to Him as a living sacrifice (see Romans 12:1-2; 28-29). Thank You Jesus!
Jesus said that each day is full of its own challenges (see Matthew 6:34). So each day, we press on with Him. We run with perseverance the race that Jesus has marked out for us. We arrange our time around His priorities. We follow Him in rhythms of rest and work. We cherish time with loved ones.
What is Jesus speaking to you about in this season? What is He causing to stand out to you from His word today?
What is Jesus calling you to persevere through in His strength for His glory?
Who is on your heart today that you are bringing to Jesus in prayer?
I invite you to take some extended time to pause with Jesus today. I wanted to share these songs with you. The first is a song of celebration written by Matthew West that a friend shared with me this week. I have since begun listening to his album and I appreciate the songs that Matthew shares.
The Lord bless you today!
