Our team is back home after a short time full of challenges and hope. God truly is providing a way for people to have their needs met spiritually and physically. We have seen children move from hopeless to hopeful through the provision of their basic needs at the International Needs Uganda campus in Buikwe.
Kevin reflects on what impacted him the most during our time there:
Trying to put into words….
Sitting in the airport seeing the hustle and bustle and reflecting back on this trip brings a tear to my eye. We all have poverty in one way or another.
On Sunday before we left I was asked if I could speak at Pastor Alex’s Church, he is the International Needs Spiritual provider. He and I have created a great friendship since the last trip in 2020. The whole service was fantastic. But as I spoke, I said we all have the same problems around the world, especially with one thing: showing love. In Romans 13:9: The commandments... are summed up in this one command: Love your neighbour as yourself. If we would all do that life would be so different.
So why bring this up? As we are on our way home I am trying not forget what I experienced. We could focus on what Uganda is needing or we could maybe just maybe focus on what we all need. When you go to Uganda you will be challenged and you will be changed. It will always be worth going. You will see many things, but as 1 Corinthians 13:13 says and now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. You will see the most of this in Uganda!
As the faith, hope and most importantly the love that shows there is so addicting. That’s what we all really need to see and bring back home and to the world.
