Prayer Reflection – November 2, 2023

Matthew 5:10 (NIV)

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Ephesians 3:10-13 (NIV)

10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

When you hear the words persecution and suffering, what comes to mind?

Is there a particular story that you have heard recently in this way?

Or perhaps you or someone you love is in the midst of tremendous suffering?

As we keep our eyes on Jesus, no matter what we walk through, we can trust that He is walking through it with us.  Perhaps there is other Scripture that comes to your mind in that way.

Jesus invites us to look to Him.  I invite you to ask Jesus to meet people in the midst of their suffering and strengthen their faith in Him – that they would be encouraged today as they look to Him.

How is Jesus leading you to pray today?

As we pause in that way today, here is a song to prayerfully reflect on:

The Lord bless you!

Ephesians 3:14-21
